As we all know, brushing and flossing at home is essential for keeping your teeth healthy. There are many differing types of brushes available nowadays; small vs. large, hard vs. soft, electric vs. manual. Whether you use an electric toothbrush or a manual one, most dental professionals agree that a soft-bristled brush is best. The size and shape can be up to you depending on your preference, as long as you are able to reach all of your teeth. Some of our patients do prefer a smaller brush head, as it can more easily access those hard-to-reach molars. Electric toothbrushes are often recommended as they make brushing easier and may remove more plaque. However, with proper technique, a manual toothbrush gets the job done too. At Sequoia Family Dental, we say pick a brush that is comfortable for you, and use it at least twice a day for a full two minutes. With that advice, you can't go wrong!
